Gabriel
Project
“Rejoice! Fear not!” were God’s
words of encouragement delivered by Gabriel.
Churches and pro-life service
groups have sought ways to expand their embrace of women in
crisis pregnancies. Now comes a way they can do so together. A
way to combine the special power of prayer with a commitment to
service….The Gabriel Project.
The Gabriel Project is an effort
of our mother Church to help deliver this message and to help
any pregnant women.
When a call for help is received,
the Helpline volunteer contacts the coordinator at the nearest
participating church to where the caller lives. The coordinator
contacts the caller and makes an initial assessment of her
situation. A church volunteer (“Angel”) is assigned the
responsibility for ongoing contact with the mother throughout
her pregnancy and somewhat beyond. An initial meeting is
arranged to further assess her needs.
The parish community responds
with love by providing spiritual, emotional, and material
support to help meet those needs.
Through prayer and action, the
church community assures the mother that she has their love and
the love of Christ. If a mother has been abandoned by family or
her child’s father, the church community can lovingly help her
overcome her sense of loss and loneliness.
We are trying to assist the Lord
and His Angel Gabriel in delivering this message. God’s message
on behalf of the unborn and their mothers needs to be broadcast
loud and clear. We need to raise our voices and lift the signs
up high for all to see, to validate and dignify the lives of the
forgotten unborn, and to educate our community.

St.
Vincent De Paul Society
Inspired by Gospel values, the
Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) a Catholic lay
organization, leads women and men to join together to grow
spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who
are needy and suffering, in the tradition of its founder,
Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
We believe:
• In the dignity of the
human person,
• In the preferential
option for the poor,
• In the virtues of
humility and simplicity,
• In charity and justice
within and outside the Society,
• In personal and
communal prayer
• In friendship,
community, and in the solidarity with each other and with those
in need.
The Good Shepherd SVdP Conference
is comprised of approximately 20 parishioners, and many
volunteers from within the community. Our monthly meetings are
held the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30PM – 8:00PM in the
Ministry Building. We also serve those in need within the
community at our food pantry on Saturdays and Mondays.

Senior
Brown Bag Program
The
Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano provides low-income senior
citizens free groceries twice a month to lead the fight to end
hunger, in partnership with our parish and in service of our
neighbors in need.
Volunteers help to organize pantry items, hand out food and
assist in bagging food for individual clients. The best part of
this ministry is greeting, talking and laughing with our
clients. For information go to https://www.foodbankccs.org/senior-food-program-application.html.
If you would like to volunteer, stop by the parish hall on the
second and fourth Thursdays of the month (9:00-11:30am).

Shepherd’s
Closet
This ministry is
dedicated to helping women with infants and young children who
are economically challenged.
We know that it is
only through Christ that any of us will find our way. Shepherd’s
Closet has long-range goals and vision for the future. We firmly
believe that the ministry of Shepherd’s Closet is God’s work,
and He will lead the way through the coming years.
“Teach me, Lord,
what you want me to do and lead me on a safe path.” Ps 27: 11
We continue to be
His servants and faithful followers.
We rely on good
quality donations of used clothing to stock our store. With your
donations, we can offer free baby clothes and young children’s
items from sizes 3 mths -5T and 4/5-7/8 as well as accessories
to pregnant women.
Special requests
are made twice a year so the babies and children can have new
Easter Outfits and Christmas Outfits for these special Holidays.
Qualifications to
Obtain Clothing:
Shepherd’s Closet is a multi-denominational ministry established
to be of service to the economically challenged women of the

qualifies a person to get a bag of clothes. Women need to
register to come to Shepherd’s Closet. The Shepherd’s Closet
shows concern for all individuals who enter our doors regardless
of creed, race, nationality, or lifestyle.
We invite and
encourage the women to attend church regularly and to find
strength in their faith for their daily lives.
We are open on the

use your help setting up at 9:00AM and during the closing after
