Devotion and Prayers Ministries

Adoration

Are you tired because of the burdens of your day, because of the frustrations of work?

Are you heavy laden with guilt from past sins?

Are you trying to find hope and meaning in life?  Don’t lose heart! Abandon yourself to Jesus in the “Sacrament of Love”. He will refresh you! The more time you spend with Jesus, the more you will come away feeling renewed and healed.

• Spiritual Renewal
• Spiritual healing
• Answers to prayers
• Physical healings
• And many other wonderful outcomes happen whenever the Lord Jesus is adored in the Blessed Sacrament.

These are the “gifts” that point to the Almighty Giver and testify to His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament… Jesus waits for you there in the Sacrament of Love.

Jesus asked St. Faustina, and through her to us, to celebrate His Divine Mercy at the hour of His death.

Christ said, “At 3 o’clock, implore my mercy, immerse yourself in my passion. And I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of me. Adore the Most Blessed Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy.”

This is an hour of grace for the whole world. Can you give Jesus an hour of your time in adoration? Prayer of Divine Mercy at 3:00 pm. Adoration is on Fridays after the 7:30AM mass until 9 am or 24 Hour Adoration in the Chapel (door code required~call parish office). Additional days/hours may be scheduled by Parish Ministry groups and 1st Friday of the month from 8:00AM to 6:30PM.

Contact: Bill or Ann Abitz at 925-432-3995 for more information.

Divine Mercy Ministry

The Divine Mercy Ministry of the Church of the Good Shepherd is a community whose mission is to spread the message and devotion to The Divine Mercy as revealed to St. Faustina by our Lord Jesus.

We seek to fulfill this devotion by visiting families and through a special “Prayer of Consecration of our families to The Divine Mercy”.

We are able to perform spiritual works of mercy by visiting the sick and the dying and praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet with them. We are also inspired by the Holy Spirit to do corporal works of mercy by feeding the poor every 3rd.

Saturday during food distribution by SVDP.

If you would like us to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet for your sick loved ones or have your family consecrated to the Divine Mercy please contact Becky Naca at 925-858-9217.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help

Our mission is to spread the novena and our devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. To continue to honor her because she is always ready to help us, console us, and comfort us whenever we ask her help. To spread the importance of praying the rosary daily with our family. Every Tuesday, one family can bring the icon picture of Our Mother of Perpetual Help to their home. They can pray the novena and  rosary daily in front of the icon with their family and friends in their home. Every Tuesday, the family has to bring the icon back to the chapel so that another family can bring the icon to their home. We have a sign up sheet for that. There is a petition sheet you can write your petitions and can drop in the petitions box. We pray for these petitions weekly during the novena.

We have 20-25 active members and meet in the chapel every Tuesday at 7 pm and the 1st Saturday of the month at 8 am for mass in the church.

Please join us! Contact Alma Espiritiu; phone number 925-597-2515.

Saint Padre Pio Prayer Group

Who Are We: We are a prayer group of like-minded individuals seeking God’s love and mercy through spiritual, physical and psychological healing. We strive to be spiritual children of St. Pio by:

• Doing works of charity
• Obeying and supporting the Catholic Church
• Practicing the teachings of Jesus Christ and the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary with St. Pio as our model.

We recognize the two-fold dimension of the cross — The vertical which signifies our relationship with God and the horizontal which refers to fellowship with others especially the marginalized.

Formation and Goal

In May 2016, under the spiritual guidance of our then pastor, Fr. Carl Arcosa, the prayer group was formed to promote the devotion to St. Padre Pio.
Activities
• St. Padre Pio novena at the chapel every Thursday at 6:30 pm.
• St. Padre Pio devotional mass and veneration of St. Pio’s relic every 4th Saturday of the month at the Good Shepherd Church
• Home visits and St Padre Pio novena as per request
• Hosting brunch for clients and volunteers of St. Vincent de Paul distribution food programs every 2nd Saturday of the month
• Delve into fund raising activity with the Church of the Good Shepherd or the prayer group as the beneficiary

Membership: We welcome brothers and sisters regardless of race and ethnicity. Prospective members are encouraged to learn the life, teachings and examples of St. Pio.

Please contact Mila Benitez at 925- 726-7526.
